Announces the Annual Alzheimer's Disease Education Conference and Expo 2012
Thursday, March 8th at the Melville Marriott
This year's conference is titled: The Compassion to Care, the Leadership to Conquer. The event will start at at 8:00 am, with the first session dedicated to the topic of caregivers, and facilitated by Ellen Tolle. Breakout sessions follow with speakers, Dr. Concetta Tomaino speaking about the clinical benefits of music; Ronda Wexler-Kahn and Mindy Wexler-Rosenfeld speaking about medications used with Alzheimer's disease. Other sessions include Dr. Max Rudansky speaking on physiological changes in Alzheimer's Disease, Robyn Berger-Gaston speaking on facilitating effective meetings with Alzheimer's families, Cherub Barbara speaking on Nutrition in Alzheimer's, and the AALI Legal Advisory Committee speaking about protectingthe family home from long term care expenses.
The keynote speaker will beLaura Savini, a local television host and producer who will be speak about her personal involvement with Alzheimer's disease in her own family and in her friend, Glen Campbell, who recently went public with his disease. The closing plenary session features Maestro David Dworkin, who has crafted a trademarked program, Conductorcize, which he will showcase for attendees.
All in all, this conference is well worth the $45 registration fee. There will be onsite respite care for family members who have dementia, sponsored by Home Comnpanion Services of New York, Inc.
