Aging on Long Island is just as "front page" as it is anywhere else in the U.S. or in the world today. Yet many professionals find themselves facing more and more elder clients without the resources they need to meet their clients' needs. The rules keep changing as Medicare Part D has taught us. The numbers keep changing as the Baby Boom inches steadily up in years. The diversity keeps expanding. What it comes back to is that the challenges of aging in 2011 are greater than ever, and professionals need answers, models, advocates, and plans. GPLI offers all professionals in gerontology, whether on Long Island, in Puerto Rico, or even Tokyo, the opportunity to learn from each other. Our members locally network at meetings but this website allows professionals from other U.S. or international locations to network virtually. Watch this website for future opportunities. We will grow with the challenges, and together we can all do the job we need to do.
